Fliegl Press

Short but powerful

With this tandem platform trailer (TPS), Fliegl has probably built the shortest trailer for Veit Dennert KG that can still transport a payload of 10,500 kilograms. In future, Veit Dennert will use the trailer, which is only 5.15 metres long, to transport crane ballast to and from construction sites. With a width of 2480 millimetres, a ballast weight fits exactly on the flatbed. The 30-millimetre-thick hardwood floor with longitudinally laid omega profiles is designed for a particularly high point load.

Load securing is also important when a lot of weight is packed into a small area, which is why the TPS 180 has a lot to offer: Tensioning straps can be attached to the slightly sloping outer frame with Load-Lock profile, and there are also four lashing eyes on each side of the outer frame, each with a tensile force of 5 tonnes. The galvanised stanchions can be inserted into the four stanchion pockets on the inside of the side member. There is also a lashing/stanchion strip across the front of the floor; chains, for example, can be hooked into the 20 mm thick round steel strips.

The little one offers everything its big brothers have on board: a robust two-speed support winch, a steel underride guard and impact protection at the rear as well as quarter-shell mudguards. The lighting consists entirely of LEDs, including the multi-chamber lights, the lane departure and position lights, the side lights and the licence plate lights.

As with every Fliegl vehicle, the axles of the short TPS 180 are laser-measured and perfectly adjusted. This ensures low tyre wear and lower fuel consumption.

Should the need for even more payload arise at a later date, the drawbar eye can be changed from the current 40 mm diameter to one with a 50 mm diameter, allowing a permissible total weight of 18,000 kilograms after re-approval.

Fliegl offers a 10-year warranty against rusting through on the yellow-painted frame.

The most important facts at a glance

  • 10,500 kilogram payload with an unladen weight of approx. 3000 kilograms
  • 30 millimetre thick hardwood floor with omega profiles for high point load capacity
  • Drawbar eye interchangeable from 40 to 50 millimetres in diameter for a higher permissible weight of 18,000 kilograms
  • Lashing/stanchion strip across the entire width of the vehicle, various lashing points
