Fliegl's own tipper test facility

An investment in safety

The coupling and uncoupling of truck trailers and semi-trailers is part of the daily routine for every professional driver. And yet, accidents, sometimes with fatal outcomes, keep happening. Until now, the driver has to climb behind the cab for each coupling process, the risk of slipping and falling is especially high in wet, icy, and snowy conditions. It gets even worse when the space conditions behind the cab are very tight, for example when a refrigerated trailer with a refrigeration unit is hitched: The driver has to contort and no longer has a secure footing. For articulated trains with sub-coupling systems, the connections are often far under the truck, the driver sometimes has to crawl under the towing vehicle and can hit his head.

To facilitate the coupling and uncoupling of the pneumatic air lines and cables and to improve occupational safety, Fliegl has developed the F-CON quick coupling system. With F-CON mounted on the side, the driver no longer has to climb behind the vehicle and can connect the connections standing next to the vehicle with a few simple steps. Fliegl also recommends mounting on the side facing away from road traffic, another safety plus.

With F-CON, swapping the lines is technically impossible. In addition, F-CON brings all lines together centrally, there is no more "cable and line salad". F-CON is scalable and can be individually expanded to include various connections. This way, hydraulic lines can also be integrated, for example for the forward and return flow of push floor trailers.

The advantages of Fliegl F-CON summarized:

  • Connecting all pneumatic air lines and cables in just one step, quickly and with process reliability
  • Safe coupling on the side of the road facing away from traffic
  • Swapping of lines is technically impossible
  • No need to climb (and possibly slip) onto the towing vehicle, no contortion in tight spaces in front of a refrigeration unit
  • No need to lie under articulated trains with sub-couplers
  • Scalable: Integration of hydraulic lines or additional plugs possible
  • Suitable for all trucks and trailers as well as semi-trailers; brand and execution neutral
  • Absolutely firm connection through over-dead-center latching, standard with locking confirmation via proximity sensor with LED
  • Optional Connected-Car-Version: Electronics only release the brake of the trailer or semi-trailer if the "correctly" assigned towing vehicle is equipped with the corresponding transponder (free assignment possible). This eliminates mix-ups; theft protection is increased.

Frequently asked questions about the F-Con coupling system:
Safety and efficiency in the vehicle connection

The F-Con coupling system is a secure quick coupling system developed by Fliegl to facilitate the connection of trailers and semi-trailers with towing vehicles. It brings all lines together centrally, making it technically impossible to swap the lines. The F-Con system is scalable and can be individually expanded to include various connections, including hydraulic lines for the forward and return flow of push floor trailers.

By using the F-Con system, the driver can securely and quickly connect all pneumatic lines and cables in just one step. There is no need to climb behind the vehicle or lie under sub-couplers. Tight space conditions are no longer a hindrance. The driver stands safely next to the vehicle and connects the connections comfortably, safely, and with a few simple steps. The F-Con coupling system is brand and execution neutral and thus suitable for all types of trucks, trailers, and semi-trailers.

The F-Con coupling system differs from other quick coupling systems through its high safety and efficiency. It offers a fast and process-safe connection of all pneumatic lines and cables in just one step. It prevents the swapping of lines and eliminates the need to climb onto the tractor unit or lie under articulated trains. Injuries and cable clutter are almost excluded. In addition, the F-Con system can optionally be expanded to include hydraulic lines or additional plugs. Fliegl F-Con saves time, is universally applicable, and prevents accidents.

How does the F-Con coupling system contribute to the safety of vehicle connectors?

The F-Con coupling system improves safety by minimizing the risk of accidents when coupling and uncoupling truck trailers and semi-trailers. The system allows safe coupling on the side of the road facing away from traffic and avoids the risk of slipping or twisting in tight space conditions. In addition, an optional Connected-Car version is available, which only releases the brake of the trailer or semi-trailer when the correctly assigned towing vehicle is equipped with the appropriate transponder. This excludes confusion and increases theft protection.

The use of the F-Con quick coupling system in your fleet offers numerous advantages:

  • Efficiency: The system enables a second-fast and process-safe connection of all pneumatic lines and cables in just one step, which significantly accelerates the coupling process.
  • Safety: By avoiding climbing onto the tractor unit or lying under articulated trains, the safety of the driver is increased. In addition, the F-Con system prevents the swapping of lines.
  • Adaptability: The F-Con system is scalable and can be individually expanded to include various connections, making it a flexible solution for various requirements. Theft protection: With the optional Connected-Car version, the system only releases the brake of the trailer or semi-trailer when the correctly assigned towing vehicle is equipped with the appropriate transponder. This increases theft protection.

Universal application: The F-Con system is brand and execution neutral and thus suitable for all types of trucks, trailers, and semi-trailers.
