More payload thanks to a new chassis

Fliegl is breaking new ground with the chassis of this two-axle turntable trailer: The side members are no longer parallel, but converge towards the front. Compared to its predecessor, the V- Stream chassis saves almost half a tonne in weight, increasing the payload correspondingly. With an unladen weight of 2500 kg, the trade fair vehicle in mega-configuration offers a payload of 15,500 kg. The basic weight of the standard version is only approx. 2,000 kg!

On board, there are four locking devices on stable outriggers for containers with lengths of 7.15 and 7.45 m. Fliegl equips this turntable trailer with three pairs of removable guide rollers; one each at the front, in the centre and at the rear; the swap guard swap body position devices before and behind each container lock facilitate positioning of the containers. The front stop can be adjusted longitudinally and folded down, the height of the drawbar can be adjusted quickly and easily without tools.

To make driving under the swap body easier, the side collision protection is slightly offset towards the inside and the underride guard is narrower than usual; the tapered rear section also facilitates coupling. With a lift height between 1,020 and 1,400 mm, the ZWP 180 Mega-EL covers a broad range, and, thanks to the brake release function, the axles “relax” before raising or lowering, even in coupled state. The 208-litre air supply in two reservoirs allows up to five lifting operations.

Like every axle which leaves the Fliegl factory in Triptis, the two SAF disk brake axles are measured and perfectly set using lasers, which reduces wear on the tyres and ensures lower fuel consumption. Not only do the polished aluminium rims look good – they also contribute to the low unladen weight.

The comprehensive LED package comprises rear light clusters with dynamic indicators, side marking lights, position lights and tracking lights. One working light each on the right and left, one in the front centre between the carriers and two integrated in protected position on the rear of the vehicle ensure optimum lighting while manoeuvring.

A mud flap which extends over the entire width, sturdy ram protection, a spare wheel holder at the rear and the plastic toolbox with drawer and shelf are further practical details which make everyday life in the transport industry safer and more convenient.
