Extremely flexible transport - Vario-Chassis V3

Transporting as many different swap bodies as possible with one trailer and enormous load capacity - the Fliegl Vario chassis V3 makes it possible. Whether 20-, 30-, 40-, twice 20- or even once 45-foot containers, thanks to front and rear extension as well as center telescoping, the V3+ can be quickly adapted to the respective application. Moreover, with an unladen weight starting at 4,700 kg, it offers a significant payload plus and does not require any special permit for the transport of 45-foot containers.

Thanks to foldable center supports, the Vario chassis V3 can accommodate containers with and without gooseneck tunnels. The chassis can be extended individually three times: The front extension on roller bearings with a new folding lock integrated in the chassis can be extended manually, and the rear extension, which also runs on rollers, is operated by a hand crank. The center telescope is designed as an interlocking central tube frame with pin locking. The low frame neck of the chassis corresponds to the height of the container lock, so the V3 can be driven with a low fifth-wheel height - ideal for height restrictions in cross-border traffic or for tours in Switzerland.

Thanks to the slightly offset axle spacing, the permissible gross weight in combined transport may be 44 t. The clever design of the Vario chassis allows maximum variability and optimum load distribution. The 1st axle is designed as an automatic lift axle and serves as a starting aid including forced lowering: Up to an axle load excess of 30% and up to a maximum speed of 25 km/h, the axle can also be lifted under load. This provides more contact pressure on the fifth wheel and allows more traction on wet, slippery ground. Above a speed of 25 km/h, the axle lowers automatically. Tele Control axle relief makes telescoping easier, and like every axle that leaves the Fliegl factory, the three SAF disc brake axles are laser measured and precisely adjusted - ensuring low tire wear and lower fuel consumption. The lightweight aluminum rims contribute to the low curb weight.

Two LED headlights at the rear illuminate the rear work area; the multi-chamber taillights, side marker lights, and position and lane departure lights are also of LED design. Also on board are a fire extinguisher complete with storage box and a spare wheel holder. The spray flap extends across the entire width, which improves visibility for following traffic.

Long-term corrosion protection is guaranteed; Fliegl offers a 10-year warranty against rust-through. Both the front and rear extensions are hot-dip galvanized to a high standard. As the only vehicle manufacturer, Fliegl also has the air spring mounts in mind; they are located at the lowest point of the vehicle and are permanently exposed to dirt and moisture. Thanks to hot-dip galvanizing of the air spring arms, nothing stands in the way of many years of operation.
