F-CON quick coupling system

Time is money, especially in logistics. Although the coupling and uncoupling process does not take long, this adds up when manoeuvring frequently, for example in automotive logistics. With F-CON, trailers or semi-trailers are connected to the towing vehicle in a matter of seconds and in no time at all - up to three times faster than usual, depending on the vehicle type.

In addition to saving time during the coupling process, the focus is on the driver's safety. This is because connecting the supply lines can be dangerous if the driver has to climb behind the tractor unit in icy and snowy conditions and slips off. There is also very little space behind refrigerated trailers due to the refrigeration units protruding far forward; with under-dome drawbars, the driver has to awkwardly crawl under the lorry. This is now a thing of the past, as Fliegl has developed a clever system that makes coupling and uncoupling the supply lines much easier and quicker.

The F-CON system consists of a robust adapter plate with a handle, into which the two compressed air lines and the power supply plugs are firmly screwed. The matching counterpart is mounted on the side of the lorry behind the cab. To connect the lines, the driver takes the handle, hooks the adapter plate into the counterpart on the lorry and operates the connection mechanism with a lever - done! The trailer and tractor unit are connected in just a few seconds and without any risk of injury. As all compressed air and electrical connections are bundled centrally, there is no more "cable and line clutter".

Can be used regardless of manufacturer

Fliegl F-CON is completely independent of the vehicle manufacturer and the system can be fitted to any lorry or trailer. This means that non-Fliegl customers interested in the system can also equip third-party vehicles with F-CON and make the lives of their drivers easier and safer. No changes are necessary on the trailer side: as F-CON is an adapter, all standard compressed air and electrical lines remain fully intact and usable - even on tractors that are not equipped with F-CON. If a customer wants to operate a moving floor trailer at a later date, the hydraulic lines can be integrated into the adapter.

The system has already been in use internationally at Fliegl for several years in factory transport and has therefore been tried and tested. Thanks to galvanised steel, rust is not an issue, the adapter mechanism works purely mechanically, even with the usual soiling that occurs in traffic.

Short form

Fliegl has developed the F-CON system to facilitate frequent coupling and uncoupling of the supply lines. The supply lines on the trailer side are firmly screwed into an adapter plate with a handle; to connect and disconnect, the plate simply has to be hooked into the counterpart mounted on the side of the truck behind the cab and locked using a lever. In ice and snow, this eliminates the need for dangerous climbing onto the slippery tractor unit; the driver no longer has to crawl behind refrigeration units to connect the trailer.
