Fliegl's sustainable vehicle trends at IAA Transportation 2022

At this year's IAA Transportation, Fliegl is presenting trailer concepts with a sustainable innovative character. The trailers and semi-trailers are all trimmed for sustainability. Economy, payload maximization, stability, durability, and concrete customer benefits are what set them apart. Innovative features provide the special highlight, because as Aristotle used to say, "[t]he whole [...] is more than the sum of its parts." Fliegl will be presenting newly revised trailers that have been thought out down to the last detail at its trade fair stands in Hall 27/C37 and on outdoor area K42.

MegaRunner X-tra Long Efficiency - the space miracle

More freight for more profit - with an additional 8 cm more space compared to a "normal" extended trailer, the Fliegl X-tra Long Efficiency offers even more space for another Euro pallet. What makes it stand out is its 1.48 m extra loading length compared to standard trailers. It is highly efficient, economical and economical in use. Its interior length is a convincing 15.03 m for the safe transport of long materials under tarpaulin. In concrete terms, this means that the X-tra Long offers

  • 3% more parking spaces compared to the "normal" X-tra Long
  • 9% more storage space compared to the standard curtainsider
  • 9% more volume
  • 9% less CO2 emission

RoadRunner Coil Greenlight - the LaSi Allrounder

Built as a coil semitrailer and equipped with all kinds of load securing options, the RoadRunner presents Fliegl's versatile load security program, including new transport systems that will be shown for the first time at the IAA. Thanks to the optimized frame design, the trailer has a tare weight of approx. 6000 kilograms (without additionally installed transport systems) and a proud payload of over 28 tons. The 7040 mm long coil trough can hold coils with diameters from 900 to 2100 mm. Three pairs of coil supports and nine pairs of reinforced lashing eyes are provided in the area of the coil well for the attachment of steel coils. Of course, the RoadRunner has the load securing certificate according to EN 12642 XL and DC 9.5 in addition to many other LaSi features.

Container Chassis Vario V3 - the New generation

Fliegl's new Vario chassis meets all the requirements of container logistics, has an optimum fifth-wheel load and scores with maximum variability and flexibility. The current unladen weight of the vehicles from this new series is 4700 kg. Freight forwarders and drivers can therefore be sure that they always have a weight reserve and can carry the sealed containers. The new container chassis is particularly at home when transporting full containers in combined transport. It has a front, middle and also a hot-dip galvanized rear extension for the transport of various containers from 20 to 45 feet.

What makes it special is that its frame neck height matches the height of the container latches. So the vehicle frame is as low as the tunnel of the container is high. This means that the V3 can be driven with a lower semitrailer height, can withstand the height restriction without any problems, and can therefore also be used for cross-border haulage and Swiss traffic without any problems.

Single semitrailer, TWP 180 and ZWP 180 - the heroes in interchangeable traffic

For the first time, Fliegl is presenting its Single Sattel as an alternative to trailers for WAB transport at a trade fair.

Narrow roads, narrow backyards - a usual swap body trailer quickly reaches its limits here. A smaller vehicle is also often sufficient for short shuttle traffic between two warehouses. With the compact single-axle Single semitrailer, Fliegl once again responds to special customer requests and enables universal use of your semitrailer tractor. The Fliegl SES Single kills several birds with one stone thanks to its special design. Short, maneuverable and easy to maneuver - this is how the semitrailer reaches hard-to-reach destinations in local, urban and shuttle transport. It enables the flexible use of your tractor unit and transports not only conventional trailers but also swap bodies of 7.45 m and 7.82 m in length or even 20" containers. The short trailer rolls on one axle with 9 t axle load - enough for the mostly light swap bodies.

In addition, Fliegl builds all common swap trailers and manufactures a dozen different vehicle types: With turntable, as tandem or tridem, and in low-coupled jumbo design. Fliegl is the only manufacturer to offer its tandem swap trailers with an optional length-adjustable drawbar. This offers many advantages, both economical and in terms of operation.

In order to design a particularly narrow vehicle, Fliegl has placed the side collision protection on its central axle trailer as far inwards as possible or permissible.

To protect the frame, a plate has been attached to the rear over which the swap body can slide onto the trailer without any barriers. In addition, a swivel gallows is available as a cable guide support on the drawbar.

With the ZWP V-Stream turntable trailer, Fliegl creates significant added value in payload with the V-shaped frame design of its two-axle swap body trailer.

In the basic version, the trailer achieves an empty weight of only about 2 tons. This is because the longitudinal members of the aerodynamic-looking chassis do not run parallel, but converge. This significantly optimizes vehicle stability, as forces are transmitted directly to the slewing ring. Mounting brackets for truck-mounted forklifts are available as an option. Here, the V-shaped frame design of the vehicles particularly stands out: as a result, the Fliegl V-Stream scores with a particularly high payload.

Fliegl Revolution - the tipper trailer with a fabulous unladen weight of less than 4 t

Less CO2, more payload, more profit. From the 1st day of operation. The Fliegl Revolution tipper guarantees maximum payload, more profit and less CO2 emissions. The conically shaped body made of high-strength aluminum is optimally matched to the curved chassis. This combination enables high stability and at the same time means an excellent weight balance. Despite extensive equipment options and a volume of 25 m³, the Revolution is available for the first time with an unladen weight of less than 4 tons! This makes the tipper trailer one of the absolute lightweights in this segment. This is already known the design of the light dumpers proven and successfully integrated in series production.

The Fliegl Revolution is perfect for transporting fillers, bulk materials and other aggregates. With this 25 m3 aluminum semi-trailer tipper, entrepreneurs get the most out of their transport business: more profit and significantly lower CO2 emissions. For the sake of the environment. The Fliegl Revolution saves cash and revolutionizes in terms of payload. This is due to the absolute lowest unladen weight of a tipper trailer in the industry. The trailer weighs only 3,940 kg.

SDS 390 X-tra Long - The sliding floor with the largest loading volume

TCO - these three letters have a major influence on the decision to buy a new semitrailer. When 11 m3 more cargo can be transported per trip, the decision is easy. The new sliding floor trailer SDS 390 X-tra Long from Fliegl offers a full 101 m3 of loading volume. Compared to the conventional 90 m3 walking floor semitrailers, this means an increase of around twelve percent. This pays off from the very first trip. Its payload of over 27 t further underlines this.

Fliegl walking-floor trailers are suitable for transporting almost all bulk goods: whether in agriculture for transporting beets, grain or potatoes, in the fuel trade for transporting wood chips and pellets, or for waste disposal companies for transporting sewage sludge or glass. But palletized goods can also be loaded, making the walking floor trailers even more versatile. Fliegl's walking floor impresses with its high quality standards in terms of stability and practicality. The trough has through-welded sidewall profiles 600 millimeters wide, made of resilient, abrasion-resistant aluminum. As the inner walls are particularly smooth, the cargo can be unloaded without leaving any residues. The sliding floor consists of 8 mm thick profiles in a ribbed design. The highlight: The aluminum profiles are bolted in the center of the trailer; if after a few years the lower part is more worn than the upper, the profiles can simply be rotated by 180 degrees - and thus continue to be used for a few more years.

The double-winged rear door is made of aluminum profiles - for optimum resistance and a long service life. It is framed all around with a special U-profile, is closed by a mechanical safety lock and locked with stainless steel latches. Particularly practical and safe: the standing platform of the Fliegl sliding floor trailer has a ladder access on both sides for opening and closing the roof roller tarpaulin as standard. Also standard are the side lashing eye preparation and the brackets for a discharge grain hopper at the rear.
